Documentation
How wp-exyt fits together — from one-click ZIP download to full migrations.
Overview
wp-exyt helps you move WordPress content to modern stacks. There are two main paths:
- ZIP export (/export) — download Markdown, JSON, and images in one archive when signed in. Free trial: up to 20 posts & pages; a migration credit unlocks up to 100 posts & pages.
- Authenticated migrations (after sign-in) — connect WordPress, pick a live destination (Supabase, Ghost, Airtable, Contentful, or Ycode), and push content with progress tracking in your dashboard.
ZIP export
From the export page you enter your WordPress site URL. The tool:
- Fetches posts and pages via the public WordPress REST API (with optional Application Passwords for private sites).
- Cleans HTML (shortcodes, block comments, heavy inline styles) and converts to Markdown.
- Downloads full-size images referenced in content (not every WP thumbnail size).
- Builds a ZIP with a predictable folder layout for Next.js or generic static workflows.
Exports are capped at up to 100 posts & pages and 300 original media files per run (admin-configurable). Very large sites may need a queued job in the future.
Migration wizard (signed in)
After you create an account, use New Migration in the sidebar:
- Connect WordPress — authorize or test REST access to your site.
- Choose options — content types and behavior for the run.
- Pick a destination — connect where needed (e.g. Supabase OAuth, or a Ghost Admin API key).
- Run — the job writes to your destination; status and logs appear under History.
Your dashboard lists recent runs; open any row for detail and progress.
Destinations & integrations
Live today: Supabase, Ghost, Airtable, Contentful, and Ycode (plus ZIP export). More — Sanity, Webflow, Notion, and others — are on the roadmap. If your stack is missing, use the in-app request form (banner on the dashboard) and we'll prioritise it.
WordPress access
Most migrations use WordPress's built-in REST API — no plugin required. Public sites connect instantly; private sites use an Application Password. Some advanced flows may offer an optional connector plugin for sites that block REST access; install it only when the wizard prompts you.
Team & organizations
In Team you can create an organization and invite members. New migrations can be associated with an org so everyone sees shared runs (when org_id is set on the migration).
Credits & billing
Free trial — every account can run migrations with up to 20 posts & pages so you can try the product end to end.
Migration credits — prepaid packs on the Billing page. One credit unlocks one migration run (up to 100 posts & pages, up to 300 original media files). Credits never expire; there is no monthly subscription. Choose one-off packs or agency bulk pricing on the homepage.
Launch discounts (if enabled) apply at Stripe checkout. Payment is one-time per pack, not recurring.
